Daily Light On The Daily Path complied by Samuel Bagster of London (1771-1852) has been a favorite daily devotional scripture reading for decade after decade, even century after century. Daily Light consists of brief groupings of scripture passages which speak to prominent Biblical themes - two themes (morning and evening) for each day of the year. Daily Light appends no commentary, but simply allows scripture to speak for itself.
There are many useful Scripture reading plans which conduct one through the entire Bible in the course of a year. Daily Light, since it does not cover the entire Bible, was not intended to be one of these. Rather, it concentrates on inspirational and devotional thoughts which warm the heart, facilitate private worship, and stimulate the mind in pondering the Persons of our Father God and the Lord Jesus Christ.
